Carla Faulkner Art

Paintings, Pottery, Crochet & Homeware.

As a Scottish landscape artist and yarnaholic who loves to crochet, I find inspiration in the Campsie Fells, known as the "Crooked Fairy Hills" in Gaelic.

Having once lived in Boat of Garten, I love the Highland landscape, which profoundly influences my work. I primarily paint in oils, creating gentle, almost dreamy landscapes with use of colour. My work aims to capture the serene beauty and subtle nuances of the natural world. I enjoy working with soft pastels and mixed media to portray the delicate interplay of light and shadow.

Kirsty Crawford -
Campsie Candles

Candles, Diffusers, Melts & Soaps

Growing up at the foot of the Campsie Fells, I spent summers on family walks up the hills. My mum's stories of uncovering amethyst geodes amidst the ancient volcanic hills filled me with wonder and a deep connection to Scotland's natural treasures. These childhood memories inspired the creation of the first Geode Candles.

Among our collection, two creations hold a special place in my heart, each echoing Scotland's essence.

Terri Lyon - Drumbowie Art

Drumbowie Art is the creative venture of Terri Innes Lyon, a Scottish Artist who primarily works with acrylic and oil paints. After a hiatus from painting, I decided to confront my fears and embark on a journey into the unknown as an artist.

My affinity for art began in school and persisted through my senior years, where I garnered recognition and prizes for my paintings as a teenager. Although I continued to paint during my university years, the demands of life gradually relegated art to the sidelines.

Seana Docherty - Glass & Art

Originally from Ireland and now residing in Kirkintilloch, I am a glass artist and painter with a wee studio nestled in my garden. My creative passions span various mediums, from painting outdoors in scenic locales like Harris, Venice, Brittany, and Woodilee (with its enchanting bluebells) to fusing glass, particularly autumn trees, beach huts, blossoms, and fairies. I am also known for hand painting glassware and for my paintings, notably portraits of children on beaches.

Alison - Alexalis Pottery

I love pottering around and have worked with clay on and off for nearly forty years. Focusing on an idea, away from everyday concerns, grounds and recharges me. I was first introduced to ceramics at secondary school in East Dunbartonshire, where I spent lunchtimes trying to master wheel throwing. Though not initially successful, my joy for creating with clay blossomed in my mid-twenties at a local high school in Kilsyth. There, I took an Art higher in hand-building ceramics and discovered my love of organic shapes, drawing inspiration from nature.

Lorna - Little Betty Sews

My sewing journey began with my mum, Betty, who worked as a dressmaker in the 1940s and 50s before becoming a stay at home mum. I have fond memories of sewing on mum’s treadle Singer and a 1970s Jones machine that came in a teal floral carry case. Mum always made most of my clothes, something I did not fully appreciate as a teenager, and sewed all of our wedding dresses.

Colin Williamson Glass

I live in Kirky where I design and create stained glass panels, ranging from small decorative pieces to large window and door panels. My most popular items include fused glass telephone boxes and hand-painted scenes of Kirky landmarks. I craft all my glasswork in my workshop at the bottom of my garden, ensuring each piece is uniquely handmade.

For traditional stained glass designs, I create windows, doors, and hanging panels. My process for fused glass involves using Bullseye glass, powders, and frits.

Claire - Little Bird Ceramics

I originally trained as an architect at the Mackintosh School – part of the Glasgow School of Art but have always been interested in ceramics. I did some pottery at school where I learned the basics of hand building but didn’t pick it up again as a hobby until lockdown when I took some lessons to try wheel throwing. After a few lessons I was hooked and have been throwing my own pots ever since. I like simple minimal forms and colours and find a lot of that in Japan so am inspired by that design aesthetic.
